Hi just wondering if someone can me help me with a fuel regulator problem. I have a vr and it is hard to crank over and when it does start it blows a bit of smoke and I can smell fuel. The fuel pump is working and I have changed the filter also put a new battery in. I am not sure which hose on the regulator is the vacum hose and which is the fuel line but when I take both hoses of there is a little bit of fuel in both of them. Not sure how to check if fuel regulator is stuffed or not could someone please help maybe some pics would be good too cant find any on the net. Thanks guys
Follow the hoses - find the one that attaches to the inlet manifold and that will be the vacuum hose...and it should not have fuel in it and if it does it means the diaphragm in the regulator is stuffed. Sorry I cannot help more.
