Hi guys, upgrading ignition leads on VS Ute. Is there any point in upgrading to High Tension leads or not? Thanks

Hye Mate.
I Have found no difference between OEM leads (what i use) to say Top Gun and Eagle HT Leads. So long as they are with in the correct resistance range.
You might find a difference if you have a high performance engine, But on stock ecotecs i found no difference
They all do the same job in the end, so just go for the standard ones.
Standard is good.
Welcome to the internet where people have opinions that you might not like
is your vs on gas ???
As above, standard is fine.
BTW 'High Tension leads' is another term for ignition leads.
If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?
Thanks people
LPG installers have told me to use the latest OEM genuine holden leads that are supplied for your vehicle. Other brands can cause misfire.
I use holden leads anyway and run it on premium unleaded.

I tried aftermarket but had too many problems - bought oem & never looked back no difference in price really
Leads are leads...not sure how you guys could be having problems with aftermarket ones. I bought a set of Champion leads when my old ones crapped out and so far they've been just fine
i always use aftermarket leads and have never had a problem with them, as above leads are leads.
leads are different from OEM to aftermarket in construction in the materials used where it be copper lead ends or stainless steel ends , maybe of a low resistance or suppressed for less radio noise , high temp silicone boots with or without heat shields , thickness of leads can range from 6.5 mm to 12.0 mm , have a wire spiral core for low resistance or a standard carbon core , after many years of converting cars to lpg i have heard alot of claims and reasons as to why others leads arent as good as the next guys or OEM leads at the end of the day it comes down to lack of maintenance and care of the leads , seen to many leads rub thru on engine components or even just left hanging and rubbing on the strut tower , burnt thru against the exhaust pipping , rough handling of the leads , spark plugs not changed often enough poor tune settings causing lean burn and over working the spark plug leads .
Plug leads always seem to be the one thing a lot of people seem to neglect. These days, with the high voltages used in the EFI ignition systems, plug leads wear out quickly when compared to the old coil and points ignition systems where you could easily get a set of leads to last for years.
I replace mine every 12 months or thereabouts, I just use normal bosch brand replacement leads, Ive tried a few different "performance" leads over the years and Ive never found any real noticable difference between any of them.
I tried the Bosch race ones & they where crap - Repco leads are great for a general ignition lead - I had a workshop & sold them for years without any problems at all- resistance is probably a bit high.
Hey guys, do you think a dodgy new lead may be cause of a slight lumpy idle?
