Hi guys. .
Im prob going to sound stupid here but what does a stage 2 shift kit actually do?
And is there any way you can tell if your gearbox has a shift kit?
Thanks guys.
changes gears alot harder and precise and alot less sloppy. When you take off from complete stop, you should feel a bit of a kick from 1st to 2nd gear. its a pretty distinctive jolt.

Yeah ive got that. I brought the car 5years ago and its been in the shed for 4.5years.
Only deciding to play with it now. Lol. .
What about when your driving it as a manual? Some times when im doing say 50ks ill shift it from 2nd to first and it doesnt change down?
Does that have something to do with it or is that another problem or something? Lol
its more of a safety thing i believe, you can only go back down to first when you slow right down or complete stop I think. shifting up and down between 2,3 & D when driving is fine but cant drop it down into first while driving.

You can only select 1st gear in the auto when going 40km/h or under other wise it will cause damage to the gearbox. Holden made it like that to prevent gearbox failure.

Dont be fooled for a problem box tho. I currently have full line pressure and a temperamental TC lock up and i know i havnt got a shift kit.
