Tickey ecotec?

my mate has a vs ecotec with roller rockers and has issues with a tickey noise and has been informed that it maybe the lifters or the cam he has it on good authority that its is very doughtful that it is the cam.

(1) how can he test the cam without pulling it out,

(2)has anyone had the same issue after having roller rockesr fitted, or is this a ecotec problem?

Most likely the lifters. $170 for the lifters, $126 for the gasket set. You will need coolent and oil again as water is bound to get into your oil when doing this.
