    Default BCM Interesting..ness.

    Hey all,

When i bought my car one of its known faults was no cruise control and no power mirrors, i put that down to either fuses, or stalks. So i didn't bother, but most recently, central locking has stopped working, via the key and manually locking, and the power windows has stopped, so basically cruise, mirrors, windows, locks. Everything that goes through the BCM, so i went in search, ripped out the one from under the drivers side dash and went to Eastcomm, they had a perfect match but it didnt fix anything, then he (eastcomm man) said he THOUGHT early VRs had another BCM, so i found it under the passenger side dash, ripped it out and he didnt have a match, so im on the look out.

Am i searching for the correct component? I can't think of anything else that would make central locking and power windows fault, especially with the other two, all fuses relays etc are fine, so i gotta assume its the 2nd, smaller BCM on the passener side?

Also, its for a Vr V6 Berlina, 92043 522 TDM is the model number on the BCM im now searching for if anyone has one or finds one, thanks guys

The one on the passanger side is the ECU(PCM) the drivers side is the BCM The one on the passanger side has SFA to do with your power windows etc

The Tech 1 scantool shows that some of the earlier VR models with MID or HIGH BCM's, have a seperate TDM (Theft Deterrent Module) fitted, as well as the normal MID/HIGH series BCM. The mid/high series BCM's took on the job of looking after the anti-theft stuff in the late VR and later models.

The tech 1 will show up what series TDM and BCM you have. Ive no idea though if the TDM has an ID sticker like the BCM's have. Ive just come across them a few times when Ive had my tech 1 plugged into either a VR acclaim or berlina with mid level BCM. I havent had the chance to plug it into a VR calais yet, but I guess they would be the same also. I think the calais etc with the high series BCM has a seperate ALDL connector under the dash connected to the steering column, the plug is coloured green.
