Alright,
My 97' VS's air con is really starting to piss me off.
it works fine, hot, cold, all fan speeds but will not blow air out of any of the vents apart from the feet. even when i change it all i can just hear a slight air flowing sound coming out.
and it'll change tone when i spin the thing around to choose what vents and so on.
anyone care to maybe throw me in the right direction?
thanks
pull the console bit out and look behind to make sure you have the hoses hooked up correctly...
Check that the thin vacuum hose is connected at the rear of the intake manifold and the connection is tight.

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
You'll need to stick you head under the console with the engine running to try and locate where the hissing is coming from, otherwise once you start pulling the dash apart you may cause other problems. If you do end up pulling the console as PanthaVS suggests, there is a how-to in that section on installing a head unit which covers pulling the console. Don't forget to disconnect the battery if you pull the console.

the hissing sound like its coming from near the headunit area.
alright i just found out where the hissing sound was, it was coming out of the black tubing of the back of the control unit.
i have no idea what that means and so on.
