hey guys im wanting to get my air con re gassed and want to get an average price of what you guys have paid before so i dont get ripped off last time i had it done it was $50, i got a quote today for $130 wtf so yeah let me know what the most you paid was ty
$130 sound about right to me, some places are much cheaper then others so im not surprised there is a large difference in those figures.
best to get a few quotes and choose what ever option suits you.
just putting it out there, you could always try calling a refridgeration mechanic.
seeing they work on aircon systems afterall, they should probably be able to do it for you
depending if it just needs a basic service, or it needs more work (ie the common condensor and liquid line), it could cost anywhere from $200 up to $500+
just needs a re gas and thanks guys, been ripped off with shit before and wont let it happen again
Refrigeration Mechanics will not have the proper couplers. to access your charge ports, you need to take it to a place that does Automotive A/C.
That being said. $100-$150 is the going price for a regas don't expect a $10-$50 Regas.
You will find that Holdens smart engineering team did not put a rubber grommet to protect the liquid line from abrading on the chassis, so by now that line will
most likely be punctured when you get it replaced be sure a grommet is put there to stop the same thing from happening again.
yeah found a place today gonna do it for 100, and the grommet has already been done
Mine got done with my service for $50
I do car regassing and i can tell you at 50 dollars the guy isnt making any money, he might be using reclaimed gas, which will probably kill your compressor in 6 months time, just after summer finishes.
The gov taxes the #### out of ac gas and will be even more if the carbon tax hits us. And the cost of needed liecening the goverment make you get to gas cars add to the consumer costsI charge 110 including the 10 bucks i give to the goverment in gst.
Down here in Canberra, we charge a touch under $200 - thats for gas, sundries, taxes, nitrogen leak test, and the labour for a basic vehicle. Then you've got receiver drier, plus more labour if it's a bugger to fit it.
It's not worth been dodgy - an audit of a business licenced to do A/C is carried out every twenty minutes in Australia.
Either way he has done 2 of my own cars, 1 of which i have had for 5yrs now and the air con is fine so not sure about this reclaimed gas stuff? Either way just stating that my service was $200 and the regas came out at $50 so either way i'm a happy man with working A/C on more than one car done by the same mechanic and no issues
But to be quite honest I reckon that $110 sounds more than reasonable for the job.
Ive had 3 A/C regasses done on commodores over the last couple of years, and Ive paid around $130 each time. I live up in the bush in NSW , and theres not too many places around that do A/C regassing, so it should be cheaper in the cities where theres more competition..I called the few places that do regassing etc in my area, and I chose the cheapest one which was around the $130 like I said. Some wanted $150 or more. The last one that I had done cost $140, it needed new compressor oil as well as a regas as Id fitted a new compressor and had lost some oil out of the compressor whilst fitting it.
