Hello everyone
Just tonight, I have noticed a very random sound coming from the ECU, every few min it will make a "click" sound..
It sounds like its trying to send a signal and failing.. Or it's shorting out. Im not really sure lol!
Tomorrow I will pull the ECU out, disconnect battery and sus over the electrics and see what's going on..
Everything is working fine, but earlier tonight the engine clunked out for a second, revs dropped to zero.. engine light came on.. then it started back up, by itself... (Only did it once, and hasn't done it since)
Im guessing, it could be something to do with the ECU clicking, or I have poor spark.. But the thing is, plugs & leads are newish.. As for the pack I don't know! But I shall grab a second hand one to sus it out.
Can anyone give me any advice or tips
Thanks!
+rep will be given for good info posts
EDIT- at the times of the clicks, the fan is off or on.. depending on its temp lol. but the click sound is not happening when the Thermo fan is engaging/disengaging. Just happens every few mins and it clicks.
there is nothing in a vs ecu that would make a clicking sound IE relays etc its not the electric antenna its over that side
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong

Tis what I was thinking. But I don't have an electric antenna .. But, I just started it then and listened to it, and the ECU is defiantly clicking LOL,. I also had the Head unit off, so the speakers were not doing anything..And I still hear the click from the ECU.. Is there anything else near the ECU that would 'click' ?
Check for error codes.

Just remember if you have disconnected the battery you have reset the ECU so no codes will come up.
Mybe just disconnecting the ECU may help having said that when I pulled my ECU out the pins and the plugs were clean as but I did spray them with contact cleaner.
That was when I was changed my memcal.
Please let us know how you get on.

Could be something caught in the heater/aircon intake which is around that area...or the fan in the heater.
