I would be going SL being a daily driver but that's just my opinion on the matter.

Had super low fronts. Ultra low rear. Sat dead level and was on the top of the tire with 15s.

I went wholesale suspension they did mine pre' cheap. I drive to the mrs house 70km away on SL and back and its fine. Gotta be honest it is a little more of a bumpy ride but its nothing major, all sweet for me.

Either King Spring Lows or Superlows. If the suspension is all original, you should probably change the shocks and struts at the same time. If you fit Lows use a standard height shock. Superlows really should be used with shortened shocks. I recommend KYB Excel G's either way. While you're at it, the bushes, link pins, and strut top bearings are all probably things you should replace. Or just cheap out and get the springs but don't expect great results.

Was it a Pedders store lol?

Find somewhere independant that deal with KYB shocks and King Springs. IMO they are better products and you are a lot less likely to get ripped off.

It is a hell of a lot cheaper to buy the parts yourself and fit them yourself too if you can. And its not that hard to do really, its best to follow a workshop manual when doing this sort of work. Id first try looking on ebay, which seems to be one of the cheapest places these days to buy car parts. Its also a good place just to get an idea of what the general prices are for the parts you need, then even if you do decide to go through a shop somewhere, you will at least have an idea if they try to charge you too much. I recently fitted brand new genuine FE2 front springs and struts, strut mounts etc, as well as new rear springs and shocks to my VS. I was gonna do the rear the same with the factory FE2 springs, but I later found out after Id bought the FE2 front springs that holden dont sell rear springs any more for VS live axle cars, so I ended up going with kings springs on the rear, they are kings part number KHRL-20 HD+ which is about equal with the factory FE2 rear springs as far as ride height goes, they are slightly stiffer though, I didnt want my car sitting so low that it scrapes over steep driveways etc, but I wanted it to handle good still, so I got rid of the old STD height springs and struts, and went with the factory FE2 sports suspension, which gives good handling and a slightly lower ride,(about 25mm or an inch lower than the std height), but they still give some comfort when driving on rougher roads. I would have went with the kings springs on the front too if I had known that holden were gonna stop selling rear springs, so then all 4 springs would match eachother, I would have got the KHFL-47SL+ for the fronts, I will fit these next time I rebuild the front end again. But its not too bad anyway with the 2 different types of springs fitted. I also went with the shorter monroe GT sports rear shocks to suit the shorter rear springs, as the standard height shocks would let the rear springs fall out whenever the rear of the car was jacked up. I picked up the new front FE2 springs from the local holden dealer for around $55 each, and I paid $99 each for new FE2 front struts from the same holden dealer, I got the kings springs delivered for around $140 from a store on ebay. I got the rear monroe GT sports shocks for $130 delivered, from ebay. And I got genuine holden strut mounts which also included the strut mount bearings for $80 delivered, also from ebay. It can all be done fairly cheaply if you shop around, and do the work yourself so you dont pay any labour which is always a killer.
