Hey guys i put a post up not to long ago how my vs ss wouldnt start well i replaced the termals and got a new battery now it turns over better but doesnt actually start.
Ive tried to use some aerostart and it just wont fire up and start any ideas ??
when you turn the ignition to "on" have a listen for your fuel pump, maybe get a friend to listen for it. If you cant hear it, maybe check to see if your fuel pump is working.
similar thing happened with a friends vr ute.
If ur using aero start and its not firing, theres a fair chance u dont have spark. The reason why, there is plenty. Could be the dizzy, coil ect.....
Dizzy,Coil,Ignition module, would be the first to check , Problem im having at the moment![]()
Considered checking your error codes..?
VR and VS error codes:
VS V8 DTC/Error codes comprehensive list.
VS V6 DTC/Error codes comprehensive list.
im gonna say ignition module not cheap but mega easy to swap, maybe borrow someone elses
If Barbie's so popular, why do you have to buy all her friends?
Are you even getting spark? Pull a lead and plug out and place it near a bolt on the car, it it arks out it should be fine...
Is there anyway to test the ignition module without buying a new one??
1 - Has it got spark? - Pull off a lead and hold it (with something insulated) near something to earth it to and see if there is spark when you crank it. If no -possibly ignition module, but could be any number of other things.
2 - Has it got fuel? - Can you hear the fuel pump start running when you turn on the ignition? Hold onto the fuel line going to the injectors, you should be able to feel fuel flowing in the line as you turn on the ignition. How full is the tank, and how fresh is the fuel?
3 - Are the injectors actuating? - Can you hear the injectors make a ticking noise when you turn it over?
4 - Check your error codes - There are some good posts on this in justcommodore forums just have a look. With a small bit of wire connect pin 5 & 6 in the ECU port under the dash directly under the steering column, turn on the ignition and count the engine warning light flashes to give you error codes.
