You either have a Getrag or T5 gearbox.... Easiest way to tell is the Getrag is hydrolic and the T5 is cable...

And you don't need a supra box for a stock 6...or even a slightly modded 6....

If it's a VR, it will be a T5. Getrags didn't come out until VSII on the V6, and VSIII on the V8

Well yeah, if it's highly modified id recommend an AUTO box.. Much stronger and quicker down the 1/4 mile for instance.... Im yet to see a top fueler with a 5 speed manual behind its engine

Its taken me a few years to admit it to myself but auto's are much better especially when it comes to forced induction applications.... Always on boost

Really? i thought all the sports cars like jap and Euro were all manuals or flappy semi auto's or something? But yeah i learnt at Tafe that an auto box was the fasted way to get down the 1/4, its a hard choice tho, Fun and games in a manny tranny, or blow off the line in an auto and leave for dead! But thankyou for ya advise im only looken for a nice looken daily, maybe to have a little fun in a corner or 2, i am fond of manual for the car connection....sounds weird but its more satisfiying to drive!

Not really a hard choice, do you like corrners or just going stright for 1/4 mile.... 2nd sounds boring to me but eh its what you want.

I have little to know interest in going down the 1/4, but take the car to the track so a 6 speed manual it was for me
