VATS Removal

Hey all,
I want to remove the ignition barrell from my car as I am wiring up accessories, ignition and engine start button for trackuse. If I remove the ignition barrell and key do I have to disable VATS from the ECU. Thanks

The keyhead is coded to the BCM/Immobilizer, no key = no start.

Anyone with an EPROM/memcal programmer could remove the VATS from the tune.
