Alright im not the smartest person when it comes to turbos (always been a v8 person) but is 385.5kw allot for a single turbo L67 vr?
Im asking as iv never really seen what kind of kw a turbo v6 can put out and that power figure is on a dyno sheet for a vr i know.
The l67 is the supercharged engine.
I don't know why you would bother turboing it.
Thats a HUGE figure and even a vs V8 wouldnt pull that without massive work.
A large turbo would go hand in hand with the L67. They run out of puff pretty quick and they only ever spool up as quick as the engine rev's as they run directly off the engine.
A turbo to take over for the top end (exhaust gas turns the turbo) would be a good idea but I still doubt 385kw is a reachable figure that's reliable.
Prob not even possible now I think about it with just a turbo and charger breathing down a v6's throat....
Number 3 is my brothers vr the one im talking about this is off the v6 performance Australia website.
FIT's Most Powerful Intercooled V6's in Australia - Engine kW
01. 440 kW (330rwkw) - Tonsta V6 S/C - VT 'S'
A2A FIT FMIC (550x300), FIT Turbo Manifolds, Garrett Turbo GT35/40R, 20psi Boost, FIT 1.9:1 Rockers, Twin 2.5" Exhaust, Daniel Chipmaster Kalmaker MAF Tuning, 42.5lb/hr Injectors, T-Rex Fuel Pump, Stock L67 Engine, 3.46:1 LSD, Shift Kitted Billet Servo Auto Transmission
02. 415 kW (311rwkw) - Astro Whipple Kit- VP Wagon
A2A Supercharged - Details to be announced on official notification, engine is stock bottom end, stock heads and mild cam only L67 and a whole heap of other goods stuff
03. 385.5 kW (287.5wkw) - HECTIQ - VR V6
A2A FMIC (550x300), FIT Turbo Manifolds, Garrett Turbo GT35/40R, 20psi Boost, FIT 1.9:1 Rockers, Twin 2.5" Exhaust, Daniel Chipmaster Kalmaker MAF Tuning, 42.5lb/hr Injectors, T-Rex Fuel Pump, Stock L67 Engine, 3.46:1 LSD, Shift Kitted Billet Servo Auto Transmission
So i take it 385.5kw is alot for a turbo v6.
Im confused? are you adding a turbo to an already supercharged engine (like on a detroit diesel) or has OP just confused engine numbers, and is talking about an S2 buick 3800 in a VR with just a turbo (and injectors and shit) added? If the former, thats about what you would expect for a super+turbo charged V6 - if the latter, its a f**kn hua turbo 6 .
So true.
And nah its only running a single turbo im not sure what engine it was running but as it says a stock l67 engine i think they made a mistake because im pretty sure it has vr s2 buick in it. A new engine is getting built now for it one with a forged bottom end.
And its not my car its my brothers car and when it ran 385.5kw on the dyno it was the persons that my brother brought it off.
Thats a picture when the original owner had it.

thats not an L67... thats just a standard 3.8l from a VN-VR.
and that info off FIT's website says 385kw, then in brackets it has ~285rwkw, which is alot more believable for a turbo 6.
and MAF tuned? that engine is MAP based...
Im not sure i would have thought that it was map based 2 but then agen that picture was taken a while before that dyno run not sure if the engine was changed but yeah. So 285rwkw is believable for a turbo 6 okay thats all o wanted no.
385.5kw from just a turbo is massive. maybe doable but would haft to be running alot of psi out of that turbo and then it sure wouldnt be reliable on a stock motor. put your foot down and ul blow the crank out of the sump lol.. suggest getting it stroked to 4.2litre with forged bottom end and ul be sweet. 385.5 wouldnt be a problem then and even better would be reliable and be able to eat those ricers lol....
It's 3rd on a list of their most powerful V6's, obviously it's up there for a V6 lol. And they add about 100kw for the flywheel figure when it'd be closer to 100hp drivetrain loss
Cheap, fast, reliable.....you only get to choose two.
Also noticed their own 330rwkw car is running 42.5lb injectors. Lol me thinks happy dyno to get that figure from 6x42.5lb injectors, specially in a boosted application.

anyway, it is FIT, I would take what is been said with a grain of salt.
