Default How to remove vs berlina complete interior and install vr caprice interior?

Hi everyone i'm about to purchase a wrecked vr caprice but it has a complete interior minus the door trims which is all I want it for really but what I need to know is how to remove the interior from my vs berlina and put the caprice interior into it? I'm new to this kind of thing so i'm a bit nervous about airbags and such :/ any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think for the airbags you just remove it's fuse and disconnect the battery.

You can ask on here if you're more specific, i.e. how do I remove the seats, then the console, etc, but really, your best bet is to go down to your local Supercheap or the like and pick yourself up a workshop manual as it will have step by step illustrated instructions on removing everything. They cost about $50 from memory and are worth every cent. Good luck with it, sounds like a good project. It shouldn't be too hard unless you are doing the dash. As a beginner, so long as you read the book, be gentle, and take your time, you should easily be able to remove most of it

Most of it is a piece of piss.
Taking out: Front seats are held in by 4 allen bolts in the rails, a pain but not hard. Backseats, pull up each side the back of the bottom section, then you'll need to push down a bit and back towards the back of the car with the front of the bottom section,do it 1 side at a time. With that bit out remove the 4 bolts holding the middle top section, just remember to pull the knob thing up the top at some point. The 2 side sections have a bolt or 2 at the bottom and once removed, you can start lifting them out (theres hooks on the back to hold them in place). You may have to lift with some effort and swear a bit but they should come out with out much fuss. The center console: Carefully lift out the console cover around the gear stick, its only held in by clips but if its never came out,it'll fight with you, just take extra care. Now unclip all the wiring, and get it over the gear stick. Then theres more wiring to unclip, just remember where it all goes. Now up the front a bit, theres 2 really big screws that have rubber on the bottom of them,un-do them almost an inch, and at the bottom of your storage compartment, theres 2 small bolts to remove. Once all this is done, lift the back up a bit first then slip it all out,you may have to move it around a tad too. The center facia has 3 screws at the bottom and the a few clips, remove screws and carefully start pulling out the the facia. The larger cover has screws on the sides and and up top too i think, just remove them and it side come right out.

Do you have a passenger airbag in the berlina,if so you may need to change a thing or 2 on your dash. I'll write up more later

When you get a manual, make sure it's a Gregorys, they are the best. You can get by with a Max Ellerys one, but I wouldn't recommend it

The caprice rear seat will be a bit of a pain to get in there because it is larger and the backs are different from the calais and berlinas, I out the statesman one in and found it is a little larger but with a bit of fiddling it fits beautiful!
