Never really look at one but I'd assume it's bolted on from inside the boot.

If its genuine there's 3 x 10mm nuts you need to remove from the inside of the boot lid. One is smack in the middle and the other two are approx 50mm in from the outside. There is often a rubber blanking grommet to cover them. To fit to your boot you're going to have to drill the same 3 corresponding holes to mount it. Use a little non-hardening sealant such as window sealant/butyl mastic etc around each thread to prevent leaks.
Lets hope the boot lid its currently fitted to is not on with urethane as people often do or it could be 'fun' to remove.

yeah from what ive heard they are sometimes stuck down with a type of glue simular to what they use on trolly strips and badges ect, my guess would be try to find where the glue is sticking the lip down and get under it nice and easy with a razor, but apparntly the lips can snap easy so take it easy once the lip starts to peal off

Bugger, so its as I suggested may be the case...
As above, DO NOT flex it too much. They can distort and break easily. The vs lip is more fragile than the vr as they are made of a different material. Get yourself a selection of retractable blade thin knives and slowly work the blade in in a stroking motion to slowly cut through whatever its glued on with. My last one took about 2hrs to cut off as it had been fitted with a heap of urethane.
    Good luck.

fine guitar string and slip under the lip and slide it from each end that might loosen it up
