done a search, but found nothing similar to my issue..
driving along today, the car was running fine, and it just basically turned itself off
i still get all dash lights and the pump primes to rail
turn the key and i get nothing at all - no cranking
its just like the trigger wire has come off the starter
done the basic check relays and fuses and elec connections
then bridged the diagnostic ports
code check tells me code 31 Theft Deterant Signal
disconnected the battery for a few minutes
still has the same issue
am i right in thinking that the immobiliser has faulted and turned itself on?
how do i fix it?
a mate said to turn the ignition on and leave it for like 45 mins
and then it over rides the immobiliser? or something like that?
every other thread i found on this subject seems to be from people who were not driving at the time
which makes me think that it wouldnt be the battery in the key, but i will be replacing it tomorro regardless
my vr is on gas also, and the gas solenoids usually click when the key goes to the on position
but yeah now they dont even actuate, and the gas guage dont come on either
any ideas?
cheers

If the key still operates the central locking then the key battery is good. Try pressing the unlock button on the key just before you turn it to start. If this doesn't work then it sounds like you have a dead car battery.....virtually totally flat.
How bright are the headlights?

everything works like it should, stereo, lights etc
except the lpg solenoid dont click on when the key is turned to on
the key pad dont work the central locking

A bad battery in the keyhead would not cause it to cut out.
If it still does not turn over after waiting 45 mins like it was suggested then I would be looking at the fuses, DFI, CAS etc.
I had the same issue, code 31, although mine never cut out while driving. Had a new key made and it fixed it. The locksmith said the signal from the old one was very weak and intermittent.
Thanks
Doin the 45minute thing atm
See how it pans out

Have you checked the fusible links? - there are a couple from memory. They kill the power before it reaches the fuses.

Would you believe the fuel pump was the cause
Unplugged it at the tank and everything came back online
Keyless entry, lpg solenoids, interior light and it started talking to the scan tool
I would never have picked that as the cause
So we now thinks maybe the fp wiring is part of the BCM loom?

your car is just shit Brett. none the less. good to see its fixed.
Fuel Pump is controlled by the PCM (Powertrain Control Module)
If it's not a Symptom its not relevant, and if its not relevant I don't care!
