Default Vs statesman 5 litre advice please ~ leaking

So after my husband left for work this morning, I went into the garage to find a puddle of oil and water under where his car had been parked all weekend. It was where the front of the car was.
He hasnt had any issues with overheating. There were also a few drops of only oil. Just curious if anyone can offer any insight as to what it could be...will be getting it checked in the next couple of days hopefully.
    Thanks in advance

most old cars drop oil and water as seals wear out and pipes start to perish
For the oil it could be many things sump leak, oil filter leak etc.
For the water it could also be many things welsh plugs, hoses, radiator etc.
    hope this helps you.

It's probably just marking its territory, was there another newer car nearby?
    But seriously...
What colour was the water, was it green with coolant or just clear? Presuming you have coolant in your car, a puddle of green water indicates a cooling system leak, could be anything from leaking radiator or heater hoses to gaskets around the timing cover or water pump, to welsh plugs. If it was clear and the airconditioning has been on in the car, then it may just be a bit of condensation from the air/con which is quite normal.
If the oil is a brown to black colour and at the front of the car, then it is probably engine oil and may be leaking from: the front seal aound the harmonic balancer, the sump plug, the oil filter, the sump gasket, or a dozen other possibilities. The only way to know is to have a good look with an inspection light from above and underneath the car.
If the oil is more of a reddish colour, it is probably coming from the power steering system, either from a leaky steering rack or power steering pump.

LOL, well we bought a VY about a month ago, but no territory marking until now!

The oil and water were in a puddle together, so it's hard to say. The few drops of oil by themselves are black as the car is in dire need of a service! Anyway, will keep an eye on it and get it checked as soon as funds allow.
    Thanks
