hey mate the 1 and 2 on your fan is due to the rearstat springs are damaged if you open your bonnet towards your wiper blades there is a plastic cover the lenght of the windscreen if your remove that you will see a little dome held down with two screws the rearstat is under there you try repairing it with some silver solder but it usually wont last long if you managed to get it at all, you can pick them up at your local holden dealer for i think around $55, ps that long plastic cover breaks very easy cheers
Fan rheostat has blown resistance coils for speeds 1 and 2.
Rheostat is located in the cowl under the plastic cover, in the middle you'll need a stubby phillips screw driver to get it out.
Replace rheostat and the fan will function fine
not sure with ur auto problem
Ive had to fix this problem a few times now. The fan speed not working on 1 or 2 will be caused by a faulty fan motor resistor block, which is located under the plastic cover under the windscreen wiper pivots. Just remove the wipers, remove the big plastic nut off ech wiper pivot and then carefully remove the clips along under the windscreen that holds the plastic cover on.Then carefully remove the plastic cover from the car. Once this covers removed, you can see a "hump" near the middle of the car, but to the passenger side slightly. This "hump" is actually a plastic cover, it has 2 screw that hold it in place. Just unscrew the screws, remove it, and under there is the fan motor resistor block, undo the 2 screws that hold it in place. Lift it out and unplug the wiring connector. Then just replace the old resistor block with another block thats in good condition. I read on here that you can buy new ones now from holden that are a different design and wont fail like the older ones do, so these might be worth checking out.
Awesome thanks guys will look this weekend.
Re trans problem, check your TPS (throttle position sensor)...if it's dodgy the trans will not know if your throttle position.
