    Default vs heads gasket replacement

    hi all
    i have just got myself a vs commodore and it looks like i need to do head gaskets i have just got the vrs kit and was wondering what other things i may need ? car got hot after a drive and was bubbling out radator and exhaust
    any help would be usefull

    If its a V6, its more likely to be the inlet manifold gasket(s) are blown. Its a very well known problem with these engines and will cause the symptoms you've described. At least its fairly cheap and easy to fix. You can now get metal type inlet manifold gaskets from mace, a sponsor of this website, you can contact them through this site, just do a search. Also Ive heard holden now sell the metal type inlet manifold gaskets too. These metal type gaskets wont blow out like the normal type gaskets do once they get old. If your gonna do the job yourself, make sure you get a workshop manual, like the gregorys workshop manuals, and get a decent torque wrench to tension down the inlet manifold to the correct tension.The specified tensions and are listed in the workshop manual. Also make sure the correct tightening sequence is followed, when tightening down the inlet manifold bolts, as it can warp the manifold if its not tensioned down as shown in the workshop manual. Everything else you need should be in the VRS kit.

    I have struck several of these with cracked heads, so best to get the heads pressure tested as well as this is also a well known issue with them.

    how dose it feed back to the radator from the intake ?

    i have the heads off and they look ok no visable cracks .. is there a comon spot they crack?

    Exhaust ports I have seen some crack
