Default car died at lights, cooent leak at water pump and now fine??

hey all got a problem with me vs v6, yesterday i changed the throttle body with one that i had cleaned up and poished etc, started car ran ok etc....

anyway was at lights not long after and was about to go as lights turned green and car lost all power and died, tried cranking it over and over and nothing just dead (cranking but not starting) pushed to side street (few people helped). so i kept trying to start it for a few min after wards and still nothing, took leads off coils to check spark and it did have spark jumping between coil posts. so i decided to change the whole coil pack over as i had a spar in boot, did that withing 10 min and kicked over straight away and yeh ran fine. however today i decided to swap coil packs again to see if it was the cause and it started fine whith the suspected dud coil pack...WTF?? but that's not all i found, i also have a pretty bad coolant leak coming from i think the water pump but theres no actual sign of coolant leaking from the pump holes but its all over the inside of the water pump pulley as i took that off to sus it out (water pumps the original). so theres cooent and oil (think its oil mixed with coolent) on teh top of the sump.

no oil in cooent or coolant in oil etc

i installed a new harmonic balancer and CAS and seal bout 3 weeks ago (CAS was genuine)

could coolant have gotten into something and ####ed it up? and now its dry ?

    im confused?

    thanks

Coolant could have sprayed up under the DFI module or the connector shorting it out till it dried. Try and flush any coolant off elecrical items especially connectors as it corrodes them. I'd change the pump first.

it was probaly the crank angle sensor couldnt get a read from the coolant and then suddenly stopped because if the crank angle sensor isnt working then the car wont start. so im guessing with the time you changed the coil pack the heat of the motor dried the sensor out and made it function again and get a reading therefor the car will start if that makes any sense lol

put other throttle body on, seems to go better but gear changes arnt as good as it was before?

the throttle body i put on was a spare one from a vx that i polished up and maybe a little bit made bigger, but it shouldnt have caused this?? as you can get the mace ones bigger then the one i polished up and works fine

still have no idea why the air bag lights on after changeing water pump....weired

Re airbag light - if you turned the ignition on when the dash was pulled it will set a light....also any disconnecting of the yellow airbag wiring and then turning the ignition on. Other than that it gets expensive as airbag components aren't cheap. You need someone with a Tech2 to clear the light - some elecs also have scanners that do it. While the light is on the airbag is disabled.

ok, got quoted 44 bucks to reset the light but will shop round first

anyway with the original throttle body it seemed to go better however i also put in round 5 liters of fuel as it was low on fuel and i had to idle it for a long period of time when i did water pump, and today i put in 20 liters from a different fuel station, im now staring to belive it could have been dodgy fuel all from teh start as the more i drive the car with this fuel from a different fuel station the better its feeling and its chaging gears alot better now to and has heaps of go go lol also has a bad smell from exhaust like rotton egg or similar (have smelt that after starting cars that have been sitting with old fuel) so yeh will have to see how it goes

also read that air bag light could come on for a number of reasons including a short somwhere like loose batery terminal which mine was a little lose, will have to get it checked out though

    $44 is a good price...Holdens are usually $100+
