hay guys , ill get right to the point my commodore vs s pack 95 , a few injectors had the ceramic plating around the tip ,broke off inside my head, i have never removed cylinder heads before, i need to no if the lifters come of in a rail system or individually are they hydrolic. i need the basic of removing an replacing safely , an can i turn engine by hand without taking off all the pullys an water pump an stuff or by tool, Or can i just take my plugs out an runs some fuel through where the injectors spray an hope it washes out ,also my manifold gasket split whilst in operation an when i pulled of my manifold a bunch of water slipped into the bay underneath not a major amount from what i could see then i relised it could of drained into lower block, but it was still all over my push rods ,i drainned oil an put new oil after spraying a shit load of water dispercant in there an drained again . now is there any spots it can sit around underneath where the manifold joins i noticed a small hole at each end of where manifold join an i shit myself plaese help guys i spewin all the help i can get only 3 weeks old my new baby is dying.
I have lost the pintles off my injectors down the hole too, I did not worry about it and has no effect on the motor at all....
well thanks for all your help ,Andrew you helped alot
mine isnt running the same man mine didnt even have a rattle now it wont even idle perfect
does ane one have the anwsers too the rest of my questions not just the one they want anwser, i am mechanically minded so some one with some experiance in wat im talking about would be nicethnks/.
The ceramic coating your are talking about is called a Pintle Cap. Are you sure it is ceramic, or just brittle plastic? Mine were plastic (but this was also on a V8), lost part of one down the intake port. Must have just burnt up, as it made no difference. My understanding though is that you will need to replace the Pintle Cap as they have an effect on the spray pattern of the injector. Unfortunately I found that Bursons etc only sell them in bags of 50, so I had to find a willing mechanic to sell me a couple of spare ones.
Removing your cylinder heads would be a last resort. See if you can blow it out with compressed air, or even suck it out with a vacum cleaner.
Your manifold gasket needs replacing by the sounds of it. As for the water, drain the coolant before you do anything like taking off the manifold. Is there any coolant in your sump? Can you see any on your dip stick. I would be changing the oil and filter before going any further.
yes i have done all that
thanks for that mate ill try
workin pretty well im just worried if there is any water deposits i didnt find will cause a problem in future
