Ok, so I recently got a vr ss, it has about 230,000 on the clock and in the last few days the oil pressure warning light has come on. It first started on my way home from work and was on constantly, the next day I started it up and no light came on so I took it for a very cautious drive and after a few mins the light began flickering when I would accelerate. And today when I took it for a spin I didn't get a warning light at all. So I got brave and gave it some and at first nothing happened but the second time the light started flickering as the revs fell.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?
It's done maybe 30 mins of driving since the light first appeared and so far no strange noises.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
Have a search, this has been covered before.

I have had a search and didn't really find anything similar. But im new here so I probably missed something.
Thanks for replying though.
Could be anything from faulty oil pressure switch, blocked oil pick up, old oil, wrong viscosity oil or low idle.

Oil pick up would most likely be the problem it would be sludged up.

Theres plenty of oil in it, that was the first thing I checked.
How hard is it to change an oil pressure switch? Is there a how to on here?
Thanks a lot to everyone that replied
Just did mine about a month not hard mate.
unscrew old one screw in new one I just counted the turns I did.
I had to buy a big ring spanner that was about all you may something in your toolbox to fit.
Someone else may have something to add but that is all I did.
Just keep and eye on it for a while.
