    Default vr v6 caprice v6 abs off help needed

    hi guys just bought a vr caprice only v6 but its mint, had abs off light on since day 1 i have tryed the paperclip trick to read faults and it wont work, i have had it put in for a diagnostic but again that wont work, they told me it would be problem with the abs unit in engine bay, but have just finshed swapping one witch was working on my mates car and the lights still on what next, theres power 2 the abs unit etc please help its doing my head in

    yes sames size rims and tyres, car is all stock at the moment, soon as abs is working i plan for new rims, super charging

    still need help with this would the module in kick panel not allow the diagnostic plug to communicate with abs fault check? theres power to the modulator in engine bay?

    i do have the error codes all ready thanks to just commodores how ever ive had it hooked to a diagnosic computer and the abs wont allow any codes cause the computer wont connect, the engine code check works with both the paper clip and the computer how ever the abs code check wont work, any help it gr8

    sounds stupid but maybe its one of those lights that need to be switched off by holden...

    Agreed with Above, there will be a 10amp(I Think) fuse in your engine bay and also a Relay in your engine bay for it. Check the ABS fuse and make sure its not blown. If all checks out, swap the Relay with another known working one
    If it's not a Symptom its not relevant, and if its not relevant I don't care!

    fuses and relays all fine ,, now what lol, had it put on a different scantool and still wont communicate!?

    and i slammed on the brakes today, an the abs aint working, big lockup lol

    Id check the ABS module which is located behind the drivers side kick panel.(Basically in the same place as the ECU, but on the drivers side.) This is the computer module that controls the ABS, and Id say its probably faulty if it wont communicate with a scantool or flash up ABS error codes. (ABS error codes are flashed up on the ABS dashlight by bridging diagnostic connector pins 5 and 12.)
