If Cars could scream Rape, I'm sure yours just did because I just eye fuc&ed the shit out of the above images.
I put an aftermarket round manual style one on mine.
I removed the safety pin that protects you from changing gears accidentally (I am careful lol)
and shortened the length of the shaft to make it look a little nicer.
Took around 3-4 hours or work to get it all to sit right but was happy with the end result.
So yes you can put just about anything on there, depends how creative you are really :P
Not sure how other commodore shifters would fit on there though, I never really tried as I wanted something unique
Ive wanted to do the same thing. How do you remove the standard vs gear knob/selector?. Thanks guys
You peel the existing knob off like a banana Peel, its not clipped in or anything...should come straight off.
The selector pin you will need to somehow cut to remove, unless you want to take the whole shaft out to remove it which is an ordeal.
I used a hacksaw to both shorten the shaft and cut through the selector pin at the same time (killing 2 birds with 1 stone)
Ill give it a shot.... Cheers mate
I'm planning on replicating the standard one out of timber.

theres a shear pin in the lower part of the shifter knob. carefully knock it out and then look to see what will fit
