VN Buick motor and Manual into a VR Auto

I have the opportunity to purchase a cheap VN that has a Manual in it.
Question is, can I put the whole driveline into a VR Auto. By this I mean Motor, Box, computer loom the lot, tailshaft. I will have the whole VN to use what I need.

Yes, if you got the whole car easy. If it's a 's2' vn why not just swap boxes?

If its a series 2 thats what I will do. not sure of the series though, all I know is that the engine is a recon and only has about 120 thou on it and the clutch and pressure plate are only 4 months old. Was thinking that it would save the hassles of Flexplates and bushes etc. to do the whole engine and gearbox thing.

hey mate i had an idear with the 6 bolt 8 bolt problem maybey you could swap crank shafts, dont know if this will work has anyone tryed this.

It could work but how many people are confident in changing there crankshaft?
