Does anyone know if a bb454 will fit in a vr?
Mate, you can fit anything in anything if you try. How keen are you?
it's always been my favorite engine. I can't build a car without it.
my vr currently has a vn aero engine in it.
Thread has nothing to do with this section of the forum. Reported.

pretty much anything can fit if you want it to.
however you will need to change some things so hopefully you are good with a tools/welder, or have near bottomless pockets =P
Anything will fit with enough lube
As people keep saying, anything will fit in anything, so long as you have enough time, patience and jew golds.

If you plan on driving it on the street then you've got 2/5 of #### all chance of getting an engine that big engineered in a VR. You're better off stroking a small block LS series engine.
Cheap, fast, reliable.....you only get to choose two.
you can make a 454 out of a small block chev if you desperately want one in the vr
first start with a 400 small block
4.250 inch bore (which is beyond the max recommended of 4.165, but still has been done)
4.000 inch stroke
check it out here
454 small block
OP saw a 454 crate motor in the latest commodore mag and thinks he can drop it in.

as the usual saying goes "If you need to ask, its probably not a good idea."
Plus, old carbed v8s are shit. They overheat in traffic and they need time to warm up before you can drive them.
They do have their place, but its not in any car newer than about 1987.
