    Default seriously p/off

    Hi all
I have a 96 vs ute, I did a 1800km run from Qld to NSW, without any issues and only ever run on 98 Premium. Then she started to play up under load and the speed went to 20kms/hr maybe 60km/h. On the highway doing 110kms or overtaking it was painfull.
    a) new fuel pump
    b) new fuel filter
    c) new plugs (NGKR BPR6EFS)
    d) new leads.
    e) new crank angle sensor
    f) new oxygen sensors (L&R)
    g) new K&N filter
    h) new IAC valve
    i) new plenum chamber seals, and thoughly cleaned , including the throttle body.

Had the codes checked and none appeared, even under excessive load. But on the way back home it started to play up again. But the problem only occuered after I had stopped, either to fuel up or take a leek. When I stoped for fuel, about 10 - 15min at about the 14 - 15km mark it gave me grief for about 1km. If I stoped for a leek with the car idleing for about 2 - 3min it took about 4kms before it gave me grief. Well at night it is nowhere near as bad as it is during the day with elevated temps.
In total I did 4,600km round trip, gave the ute a rest for three days. It started fine on the fourth day, but for the next 6kms it had a miss, I thought it was running on 3cyl. Slammed it into nuetral and tryed to rev it out, not happening it just let me know how bad the miss is.

I have pulled the plugs and they look a bit lean (too white) for my liking and I should know after 30yrs of m/c's riding and rebuilding, so I have come here for help before I drive it into my very deep dam. I love my ute but I am ready for a divorse. Any information is good information.

Sounds like your Coil Packs and or DFI Module mate. Might be worth getting your TPS tested and or replaced as well.
If it's not a Symptom its not relevant, and if its not relevant I don't care!

Try 91 fuel. I use to run every couple of tanks as 98 and then run 91. But then my ute randomly decided it will run like shit on 98, but still works awesome on 91.

    Default Injectors

    Thanks for the reply fella's.
I have run several bottles of Techtron 5000, being as on a long run I believe thats the best time to clean the system. There is no noise or rattles coming from the injectors either and "ALL" the plugs looked identical in colouration, including porcelain & pins. So I believe the fuel injection is fine.
I refilled about every 360 to 400k's at Caltex servo's except there was one BP, I don't go to the others unless its Shell. At 100ks/hr average I was getting 12.3ks to the litre and @ 110 -120k's I was getting 11k's / litre which is pretty good in my book.

Tom_1569 I will take your advice after I have ran this (full) tank out cheers (if it runs again long enough to use the fuel).
Black_Stig I am listening, two of the coils have been replace prior to my ownership. The DFI module was my next "guess" @ $220 my last option, the re soldering is not an issue. One question I have a VP module and coil pack in very good nick of the old ladies resently wrecked wagon, are they interchangable with the VS?

Thanks very much for you replies

Correct, however if you are changing over the DFI module as well, the bracket between the Buick and Ecotec motor are different.
