Only thing I could suggest is disconnect the battery for 5 mins and reconnect - this will reset the ECU and can fix oddball faults at times. Does the handbrake light/alarm work? Good Luck.

Dissconnect the battery for a few mins should reset the ECU.

If the globe is OK and the chime works for the hand brake warning - I be sus of the trip computer itself. You can test this by disconnecting the sender unit at the tank = dead empty

I do this on my cluster test bench for level 3 clusters. I have a switch on the sender unit to kill it with. A few seconds later on comes the low fuel light.

I do not have a trip computer only analogue guage cluster with warning lights and chime. Does the Low fuel run off the same sender as the fuel gauge or does it have a seperate sender?

Oops not a L3 - The sender unit test works for L1, L2 or L3 clusters. Check the copper tracks on the back of the cluster to the warning globe. If the tracks look OK then I guess your looking at the speed alert unit in the dash or the wires too it.

Hey. I was always told. If YOU look after the top half of the tank. The bottom half will look after itself. Don't run it so low on fuel and there is also a fuel gauge to look at.

I never rely on the fuel gause alone, always keep an eye on ODO as well.
In regards to the speed alert.... does this have something to do with the low fuel alert? because I have removed this and premantly mounted my GPS there!

Probably been removed from the cluster if not chiming

It should chime heaps if you take off with the hand brake on - even the first knotch should set it off.
