    Default Fuel pump unsure!!!

    hey guy,
Yesterday morning i had problems starting my vs commodore just kept clonking out 2 3 times then starts perfectly and was fine all day, this morning same thing but as soon as i stopped it doesnt want to start now.wants to kick over so not starter motor.cant hear pump weering when i put it to accesories, so im assume fuel pump what do you guys think???

Also is there a way to find out for sure before i spend $ for a pump? could it be blocked as its been on empty for awile but not to the point fuel light on.

any suggestions would be great thanks guys.

My pump did the same thing (lucky im duel fuel)... Took it out, had a look then put it back in. changed the fuel filter too but still didnt work. So I have a new one coming from ebay. So id say youd need to replace it. But before you do check the fuel pump relay take it out and try another one in its place. If that dont work. Replace the pump

Not really to hard.chuck it up on ramps or stands.. Take out the relay. Start the car (let it de-pressurise the system). After it stalls keep trying to start it to use up all thats left. Then remove the negative terminal on your battery. Then up underneath your car remove the plug that is on the back of your tank. Remove all hoses (be sure to remove as much petrol before hand. And have a container to catch left over fuel and safety glasses on).after that remove the 5 screws rhat hold the circular plate where the plug is. Then gently pull it out (be sure to take time and care doing this as the fuel level gauge is easy to break). Remove the internal hose then pull it the rest of the way out. Theres the fuel pump. Be sure to remember how it is connected to install new one in the same way.thats how ive done mine twice now. Others might have a different way of doing it but thats what ive done. Hope that helps
