I am just wondering if a manual starter motor will work on an Auto?
Might have to find out when I remove it.. from what I have seen some have 9 teeth on the gear. but this one has 10.
There is a difference....might be the distance the nose sticks out but not sure.

OK...drive end bracket - the bit wot sticks out with the pinion attached. I remember reading that one is longer than the other.
Edit...auto one does have a nose...manual does not (as you know)...see this post before I stuff things up more: vr manual starter motor?

Maybe if this one does not work on an auto, maybe someone might want to swap?...
Great pics...looks like an aftermarket starter in good order.

Thanks been wanting to give my Nokia N8 a go
It was originally for a manual converion but have changed my mind lol But the starter I have on the auto seems to be playing up. so I am hopeing that this one will work, but I have not been able to change it since we have had rain here for nearly two days![]()
Yea, theres a difference.. Dont think it will work.
OK, I have installed it and it appears to work. There is a small gap between the starter and bell housing though,
The original one needs a new solenoid, would anyone know where to get one?
