I have just purchased a vr ute that appears to have factory installed cruise control. The car has had an eco tech motor put in and they haven't conected the cruise up. That is the cable from the module under the air box to somewhere on the throttle body is not connected, also when pressing buttons on the stalk no lights on the dash come on to indicate it's not on. I haven't checked fuses and relays yet but could it be as simple as connecting the cable to the throttle body? seems strange to go to the trouble of changing motors and not doing this.
I'd hazard a guess and say they tried to get it going but gave up. VR and VS modules are different to each other as actuating cable is different. In cases where the car has been "altered", it can be easier to just add an aftermarket cruise unit and avoid all the wiring hassles.

I thought that might be the case. It's not that important to have it going so I might just pull it out and sell it. Will a non cruise indicator stalk simply replace the cruise one? also is there more to the cruise control unit than just the module under the air box and the cruise stalk?
