Default Quick question about strut brace in a VS

    Hey guys,

first of all, yes I know you can buy a strut brace for a VS, but will it fit with the L67? probably yes, but if I was to install an intercooler (which lifts the supercharger up a little) will I still be able to fit a strut brace on.

Sorry, I just haven't seen any pics thats why i'm asking.

    Cheers,
    Ben

Stock - yes without a problem. If you intercool this is where you'll possilbly run into trouble depending on cooler plate thickness. A 50mm plate will likely require you to lower the k-frame to get the clearance you need. I currently have approx 38mm clearance between the blower and brace on my vs which is uncooled.

Oh ok, I don't really want to attemp to drop the K Frame as I have never done it before. Ill see how I go, I might end up finding a thin intercooler that will still allow me to have a strut brace.

I just went out and had a look, the supercharger is probably less then an inch from the bonnet when its almost completely closed. It's got me thinking that I might have to get the intercooler professionally installed, because they would know what they have to do to make it fit.

In a VS body with a 50mm cooler plate you'll likely have to remove a section of the bonnet reo skin or the blower pulley will hit it, even with the smaller pulley diameter you'll be able to run with the cooler intake temps. Will also likely have to massage in the firewall a little in the plenum area or the blower u bend will rub on it. Dropping the k frame also helps with this by slightly altering the motor/trans angle. Jump onto L67torque. Has been covered many times there. Cheers

Thanks for all the info mate. Had no idea that I had to modify the firewall as well. But ill take your advice and go on L67torque.

    Cheers,
