Vs ss series 2 gearbox n clutch type?
Hey guys I just recently brought a 97 vs ss s2, the gearbox crunches from first to second gear, I can let the revs drop down n they won't crunch, is that normal or is that synchromes? Also I'm not sure as what sort of gearbox and clutch are in it? People say its t5 but then some say their getrag, how can you tell? My clutch is heavy and cable but I'm not sure if that makes any difference , in the engine bay the gearbox code or whatever it is says it's M70,
Can anyone help me?

Cable operated clutch will be T5.
Mines t5 and says m78, also there should be a reservoir for the hydraulic fluid somewhere if I'm not mistaken.
It's definetly cable because I tightened the cable yesterday to see if it would stop crunching
