ok so my vs is shuddering under load and losing power ect. So today my mate helped me diagnose the problem so we lifted the car off the ground and tested it in neutral and drive ect. in drive the diff (single spinner) was making weird noises and one of the wheels wasnt spinning. So now the diff is off and im hopefully picking a second hand one up tomorrow. Now would a bad diff cause shuddering, loss of power ect?
we were thinking of removing the drivshaft from the centre bearing so we can start the car and put it in drive and see if it shudders (this is of course without the diff ). is there anything we need to look out for when we do this? and also what other things can we do to diagnose if the problem isnt the differential? we checked out the uni joint and it seemed fine. the centre bearing seems to make a little whiny noise but surely it isnt engouh to make the car shudder and lose power?
any advice would be great guys and girls. fingers crossed this "new" diff solves the problem!
Wow, I would of checked the DFI and coil packs before going near the DIFF. maybe even check engine and gearbox mounts as well....
I hope you didnt accelorate when the cars off the ground. No good for the diff..
You have started from the worst possible part. Gonna work to the best start?
