Hi all, my second day as a member and my second question.......
Any ideas why my t5 box would pop out of 5th when not under load.ie when coasting down a hill.
Is this a fluid issue, shifter or more serious ?????
Any ideas guys?
Thanks..

Worn 5th/rev selector sleeve or hub.
Bent 5th/rev shift fork.
Excessive endfloat in 5th gear.
Weak/broken shift key springs.
You could try an oil change but I doubt anything will improve.
If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?
or easier still... just check if the rubber covers under the plastic plate are pulling too hard in the lever
Hit me up with some reputation points if i've helped you out! (Star in the bottom left!) Cheers!

Yup - its gearbox out & overhaul time
Toploader conversion time!!!!
the rubber gear boot was pulling mine out of second gear, so i would take the boot off and see if that fixes it since it is a fair bit easier than pulling the box out and overhauling it
