hey all, ive got a vs here which has had a vt motor installed. i added the extra sensor for the ecu so it runs properly .. the low fan cuts in at around 3/4 temp then when it gets just below the 3/4 turns of wich is useless as tits on a bull.. its also messing with my climate control? if the motor is to hot sometimes when i start the car the climate doesnt turn on straight away it will just cut in a minute or two later.. is this normal? this time i started the car while still being at running temp and the climate control didnt turn on at all? , as for fan problems. when the AC runs the car sits at half temp where it should and the fans work fine.. no ac on the car over heats. ive checked and replaced both relays and also checked pin f6 on the ecu and that is fine also? anyone have any idea what might be happening with this box of junk?
oh also their is a metal pipe behind the climat econtrol unit wich gets prety damn hot?
Can you confirm you have climate control and not garden variety A/C as fitted to Executive models?
You may find that the fan not cutting in till 3/4 is normal - admittedly some people have the fan cut in at 1/2 or lower but like I say, many don't cut in till 3/4 (mine included). At 3/4 the engine is not overheating which will occur when the gauge reaches the top and the warning chime sounds. Commodores run hot - they are designed this way for efficiency (or so the manufacturer says).
