Hi guys.
the old wagon is showing old age.
Last week I had a problem with the Imobilizer not shuting off, No problem before. Used the original transponer and had no problems.
Today drove to work no problems at all, went to restart 20min later crank but no start.
Tried 3 hours later and ran fine. drove home about 5 min away, shut off and no start straight away.
Did a code check (12) engine ran fine, Did multiple restarts and no problem. after about 10min of running with the AC on I shut down the engine then had no start. Still code 12. tried to restart a few times nad no go Did notice the engine cooling fan running even tho the ening was at a low temp, I removed the fan relay and could hear the fuel pump cycle, I checked for spark and only had one at the start of the crank. I ran water over the CAS and still had no spark, after about 5 mins of testing relays incase of ants. the engine restarted, still code 12.
after a couple of mins of testing by shuting down I had no start again.
I checked the spark, none, checked fuel pulse none, Had power at the injectors and ECM then a couple of mins she restarted again..
Ive never replaced any thing in engine managment since Ive had it (5 years)
Can the CAS play up with out showing any code or running problems before shutting it down?
I cant pinch the scan tool untill thursday so I trying it the old way.
Cheers Jim
I would be looking at your ECU and BCM and maybe the CAS...
Run the engine up today and it took 5 mins to get to the no start problem. Tried it 3 times and no start...Pluged in the Scan tool and do you think that bloody engine would play up. There were no faults loged except the cam pos sensor and a vac leak and total failure of the CAS .. after playing with it for over 3/4 hour I gave up. I shut it down for an hour or 2 and it wouldnt start.... The scan didnt log any thing...I did a scope check on the outputs on the CAS and it was fine. I couldnt get it to restart untill about 2 hours later....Starting to suspect the DFI module.
Give me a carby and points any day...
Replaced the DFI module and sofar so good....
