Better of just buying a VS box alot easier and cheaper, is it a VN, VP or a VR box? The VN and VP boxes are cable operated.

Yes I know, if you get anymore manly you are in danger of making yourself pregnant!
Hmmm okayy
As you have a VS you MUST use a box that has the correct number of pins on the connector otherwise it just will not work properly (it can be overcome apparently but no one seems to know how!). So if your old box has 5HDD or 6HDD or 7HDD you should get one with the exact same identification. VR box will not fit as the plug has one less pin on it. As it takes a lot of time to change a box you want to get it right first time! - as an example, my bro-in-low and I took 3 days to change the box in my VS just 2 weeks ago....it ain't fun when you're both pushing 70!. A young bloke might do it in 2 days, or less with a hoist. Good Luck.

if your car a vr you can use a vs gearboxs but you cant use the vs in the vr.... but u can change the wiring harness in the transmission
