    Default Injectors

So my new injectors arrived today. Going to install them later this evening. It seems like a pretty straight forward job, any tips or anything to look out for/ be careful of? Cheers.

Just make sure there are no leaks and make sure the injector clips (clamp) are on properly....

I bought these cheap, brand new, no name injectors for my VSV6 in the link below from ebay. They took 2 days to arrive and came fitted with new o rings. I didnt know what to expect from them being what they are, but 8 months later and theyre still going as good as the day I fitted them. I instantly noticed better starting, running, and way better fuel economy, and theyre cheap, thats the best part, about the same price as getting your old injectors remanufactured/reconditioned etc. Brand new Bosch injectors are around $400 or more. These cheap ones in the link probably wont last as long as bosch ones, but at these prices, who cares, I'll just get more of these ones again when this lot stuff up or whatever...I reckon they would have just about paid for themselves in the fuel savings Ive got from them.

I actually bought the exact ones as Brett_jjj, from speedypumps, and as he said, I also noticed an instant improvement and after being quoted $110 each for genuine replacements, I figured for the price they were still worth it. And they must have the quickest delivery on eBay,.

Wondering now if some one could help me, Air con is only coming out the feet vent, it was working fine on Friday arvo on my way home from work then I changed the injectors and used the air con today and just out the bottom vents. Could I have knocked something out of place doing the injectors or is it just coincidence?

Cheers pete, I ended up realising a few hoses had come undone at the back of the engine, obviously from when I pulled the plenum off for the injectors, I was pretty sure is wouldn't be that solonoid pack under the radio as I put in a new one earlier this year.

I reckon, how can you go wrong for $165?? You'll prob get a decent few years out of them at which point you get another set and still no where near the price of 6 genuines...

Since fitting the new injectors, I run a bottle of injector cleaner once a month, just to help keep them cleaner for longer. I also only use 98 octane fuels, which also helps, as most brands of 98 octane fuel have fuel system cleaning additives added. My fuel economy is a lot better than before the injectors were fitted , I dont remember exactly what I was getting, but they made a big difference. I recently drove 300km at 100 -110 kph on the highway, and it probably cost me around $20- $25 worth of 98 octane fuel. I also had a bit of gear and 2 other people in it as well, so it wanst as light as it could have been either. For the age of the car and the state of the engine etc, (around 180,000 since full reco), thats bloody excellent I reckon. I do spend a lot on maintainance though to keep it running at its absolute best. Ive also tried probably hunders of different tune settings etc to try to get the best power and economy balance, and have got it just about spot on now I reckon..

Just an update for anyone interested. I just finished the first full fuel fill up with the new injectors. Before I was getting around 450 k's to a tank with no air con and that was driving like a granny. With the new injectors I got to 450 and that was normal driving with air con at least 50% of the time, so they have made a decent difference in my opinion.

they look like EV6 style injectors those new ones, not sure what brand or specs anyone got a part number? They should be better than standard VS injectors which are EV1, ev6 switched to director plate, better atomization of the fuel, bosch 777's are the same used in VT-VY.

On mine I only replaced the pintle caps and filters and my fuel useage went down, putting in new oxygen sensors also helped.
Next time I will get new injectors.
