Battery light is probably worn brushes - you can buy a brush and regulator set for about $50 and they are held in by 2 screws at the back of the alternator. Disconnect battery first!!.
What fluid are you talking about - coolant, trans fluid, power steering fluid?

Does the trans fluid smell burnt? When was the box last serviced?

If the fluid does smell burnt as Hangman asks, then you could do a service yourself - $32 for fluid and $18 for gasket and filter. As it is also slipping I'd add a can of "Stop Slip" although the bubbles can also be caused by an incorrectly installed filter that allows the oil pimp in the trans to suck air......also could be wrong fluid etc etc. Easiest to just change the fluid and filter and see if OK...if still slips add a can of Stop Slip...if still slipping then it may be time for a new trans.
In the "How-to" section of this forum you'll find instructions on changing the fluid. Good Luck.
