    Default vr manual conversion question?

    hi all..
    im doing a manual conversion in my vr ute. I have just purchased a manual harness and manual computer and im ready to install but before i do i was just wondering if i will need to install the bcm that goes with these as i didnt get this in my purchase or if i can use my bcm i have in the car already. i cant seem to find anything on the net and would appreciate anyones knowledge on this.

    Not sure if the PCM needs to be changed. I don't think the BCM needs to be changed as the BCM is there to get a signal from the keyhead to tell the ECU to turn the injectors on. Amongst other "features" of the car. You should be right to just change the ECU and wiring harness to a manual one
    If it's not a Symptom its not relevant, and if its not relevant I don't care!

    Ok so I guess they are not linked like I have been told.. It's hard cos I get told I have to use the same ecu n bcm but then I get told I don't.. It's doing my head in as I can't find any good info. But your advice leads me to thinking it would b ok to use the bcm I have I just hope they don't have to link lol

    Hey mischa thanks heaps looks like that's a no.. How easy was that.. Thanks again to all.. I have done this b4 on a series one vn but just wasn't 100% on the bcm this time as the vn don't run bcm except lux models..

    vt onwards need BCM-PCM linking.

    vr-vs security is lax as...
