ok i tried put a screw bit on the sensore but no go or flathead what typed of screw are they cheers?or are the screws a special bit to unscrew the sensor

I assume the VS would be the same.. I removed mine with a phillips screwdriver...

Agree, they are torx screws. Be careful, the screws have a habit of oxidising to the alloy throttle body and snapping off when trying to undo them. Give them a soak with something first to free them up. It only takes 10mins to whip the throttle body off, and it would make the whole job easier plus you can give it all a good clean up IMO.

yer torx key took throotle body of gave it a clean then put tps sensor on now its idle good not running lumpy or stalling or evan fumy so far so good but engine light is stayin on now lol

You need to disconnect the battery for 30 secs or so, or alternatively take out the engine fuse (located in the fuse/relay panel under the bonnet) for a similar amount of time. That will reset any logged trouble codes in the ECU. If you have any more trouble codes logged after that you need to address them. Did you remember to make sure the drive adapter (small white plastic item) was replaced in the correct position?

Have you tried resetting the TPS? After disconnecting the battery for at least 10secs to reset the PCM (ECU), you need to reset the TPS by starting the car, reving to 2000RPM for at least 10secs, then turn off the car.
Not sure if it will fix your problem, but worth a try.

Did you just take your TPS off and clean things up, or did you replace it with a new or secondhand item?

Are getting any error codes?

And since that, what error codes are still showing up?

At any rate leave the battery disconected overnight then see what happens............

I replaced my tps with one from the wreckers recently ( I pocketed a second just incase the first was a dud, I don't condone theft! ) and it ran at slightly higher revs and the engine light stayed on, I replaced it with the second one I got and it was fine. Maybe your replacement is a dud.

How important is this revving to 2000 or 3000 rpm's? I've heard of this a few times now...
