well yer basically the title says it all, go to start car, turn key all the way, nope.jpeg. Try again, same thing. Generally try a few more times before she starts up. But then the engine light comes on.
HHHmmm, all i can think of is dead battery in the key, any other ideas?
Help greatly appreciated!
Check the error code to see what it is. no doubt it has to with your keyhead.
Probally needs new batterys.....
Check the key is getting contact with the bit on the column
check to see if hte battery terminal is loose, sometimes that can affect the start of the car, does the key head work to open the doors?
Has your keys broke before or have you reassembled your keys before?
Because this happened to me when i reassembled my keys when it fell and apparently the top part of the key was not touching the column which wouldnt let the car start due to the factory immobiliser. (I took it to bridgestone and they said that the error code said that it wasnt the right key at times)
check the engine codes first and then take it from there.
Sounds like the battery in the key head might be flat. Do you have to hold down the buttons for ages to unlock the doors? Id start using your spare key just to see if the same problem is happening. If the spare key works fine then thats problem solved.
Key heads a pretty cheap. You can get them for $6.50 on ebay, there's a thread on here about it![]()
thanks for the replies!
yea ive reassembled the key before becasue i got a new key head i think? that ( black thing with new buttons) and a few times ive had to press it a few times when standing close to get her it to open up
ill try get a new battery and have a crack at that
thanks again
