hey all, i was just wondering i have a 1997 vs series 2 statesman sitting in my yard the engine is blown but everything else is great the interior is like new, four new tyres, no rust, never smoked in etc. it was registered up until about 3 months ago odo:300,xxx as a daily driver has full tank of petrol too, just need to know how much to sell it for thanks

probably no more then 1k, if it was running it would triple.
not many people want to buy a car that isnt running, especially if it has a blown motor, and its only a vs statesman. it's not like theres a huge market for them

well its only an ecotec... lets be serious wreckers have so many of them its not funny.. worth the second engine; maybe even throw in the super charged one.. works out that flat spot from such a heavy car

Face facts - it's been unregistered for 3 months - that means that in addition to a new engine (factor in $800 with fluids/hoses etc) you must add a RWC which may mean you have to spend $$$$ plus the actual rego cost. Then you sell it for maybe $2000. This is only if you do the labour which is pretty large and all the running around...plus there are many variables.
My advice FWIW....bin it - syphon the fuel out and ring the mob that buy wrecks for $200. Saves a lot of hassles.
