Whats the difference between a series 1 and a series 2 gearbox in a vr commodore?

Have a look at the model number first. The series 2 is a 4HDD

I could be wrong but I believe it depends on the year it is made. 95 Series 2 would be a 5HDD.
My VR is a 94 series 2 made in December 1994 and has the 4HDD box.
the 5HDD has a extra solenoid than the 4HDD box
mine a 4HDD so there will be no problem if i put a series 1 in?
