So I had a bloke pull me over the other day to tell me my back left wheel was on the piss a bit.
It was wobbling bad enough for him to express his concern so when I made it home I changed the rear rims with some stockies and then a fews days later I get followed home by a bloke on a Motorbike who tells me the same thing is still happening?
I can not figure out why its bent out of shape, The 20's I had on the rear at first didn't have the inner hub spacer so maybe it was from that? I haven't clipped any gutters so im puzzled as to why its doing it.
Upon closer inspection I did notice that the gap between the back of the wheel and the drum was wider at one point then gradually got thinner as you followed it around, so clearly its not sitting against the drum evenly...
Im going to call up a wreckers tomorrow and get a new rear assembly but if I anyone can give me ideas to why its doing it and if it could be fixed it would save me a large amount of coin and id be happy as Larry. (who ever he might be)
My thoughts are the rim is not sitting over the raised centre of the axle.
Remove the rim and measure the axle centre against the measurement of the hole in the centre of the rim, and naturally, if the hole is smaller than the diameter of the axle stub then the problem is wrong wheels.
Is the brake disc not on properly? It sounds like something may be up with the axle, and/or the studs. If you can, pull it out and have a look ,see if anything is bent. If so, i'd replace that part.
