Brought my Daughter a VR auto ute had it passed for rego and I had been driving it all day, she got into it via the passenger side without unlocking the drivers door and drove just up the road when it lost all power to the accelerator coasting to the side of road just. Now it won't start, will wind over but not fire ..does not appear to have spark and can't hear the fuel pump. Wondered if it may be the immobiliser but can't find where it would turn off ??? HELP PLEASE!!!
Try locking it with the key (using the remote) leaving for an hour then unlocking and restart.
Have tried that and tried leaving key turned on for 1 hour then trying to start still doesn't work
Try calling local RACQ/NRMA type establishment. They may be able to assist. Can you get it towed to Morree if there is no good local mechanic? Should ge someone decent there (may have to wait a few days obviously).
You could also try checking for error codes which may point to whether it is an electrical problems :Checking error codes VR/VS (Revised)
You won't hear the fuel pump except for about 2 seconds when ignition is first turned on.....if the pump does fail it can sometimes be restarted by giving the bottom of the fuel tank a good thump from under....this can jigger it back.
Try some Aerostart in the fuel inlet (remove aircleaner element)...if it fires you know you have ignition. Make sure the battery is good as they need a good battery and connections. Bad timing (Xmas not engine) but I hope it all comes out well in the end.

also not all fuel pumps make noise when they are primed. maybe the crank agnle sensor?
check the main engin fuse, i had the same problem (no spark or fuel pump) if its blown then theres a problem with the wireing loom somewhere, although io can still unlock and lock my doors when it happend to me. it was the DFI wireing connector shorting out causing the fuse to blow and engine cutting out
however im not sure its your problem though
Thanks everyone for your replies found problem it was the engine fuse, loose earth and 1 coil that wasn't working all seems fine now![]()
