Default Hot air through floor vents

Sometimes i think its better to just own a horse. So after the recent minor repairs that i undertook i was feeling pretty good.It doesnt get easier as you get older for you young players.Dont speak to soon.I went to operate the air conditioner and the compressor turned on no worries but cant control temperature or select mode.Hot air coming out foot vents.Checked for loose vaccum connection but still connected. Its worked fine for years that ive had the car.Can anyone give us some advice on this?

    Thanks.

Are you saying you can not turn the knobs on the dial or are you saying they are not responding, ie will not operate in any other mode than on the foot vents?

I'm guessing the control panel is working ok but the heater tap on the engine is corroded and stuck open.

I'm guessing you've lost all vacuum which means the direction controls default to floor vent and the heater tap stays on. Check where the vacuum takeoff hose connects to the inlet manifold.

Gday. The knob isnt stuck.Theres vacuum pressure when i turn the mode knob but not as strong as before.Sounds like the heater tap.Ill get a new one and see if it comes good which sounds like it should. No worries and thanks again Holden lovers.

Check the vacuum line all the way to the engine.
You can pull the heater tap off and look inside before buying a new one, but they are cheap.
FYI if the heater tap is corroded then the whole system probably needs a flush at minimum.
