vs 5.0L auto stalls then engine light comes on

hi guys im new to this. I just bought 96 series 2 vs exec 5.0L ex chaser, its very straight for its age has all the tell tales, ss interior all the stuff you guys know it would have. Is it common for a 5.0 auto to stall and the engine light come on? I started it again it went into limp mode took it to my mechanic he could nt figure it out. i left the car off for about an hour the engine light was off when he test drove the car, he said it was fine he tried to connecting a trouble code scanner but it kept coming up error. The car seems fine again. Is it serious?

Yeah very serious, you need to find a mechanic that knows what he is doing with commodores.
Congrats on the new BT1, I have one too.

Try searching how to retrieve the codes,it is a piece of piss, it is all here in the how to on the forum.
