i am about to put a new gearbox in my 93 vr commodore but the one i have to put in has "hdm" but i cant read the first letter or number can anyone help me out cause i need to work out if itll still fit or not?
This link has where to find the ID which is engraved on the side of the box...also has some very handy tips on pulling the buggers out etc.

i cant seem to find it on there wheres the best place i can look to identify what gearbox it is
im really getting annoyed at myself cause i cant find anything..
Mate, look on page 8 of the PDF file link that was in my post - on page 8, the top picture says: "location of transmission model ID 4L60 and 4L60E single piece case 1988 - 1997 VN to VS." ....it shows a picture of the gearbox with the ID stamped/engraved on it. Use a torch at an angle if it's hard to see.
